So, like I said, I'm making this post for people to introduce (or reintroduce) themselves.

You definitely don’t have to, but if you do happen to feel the burning desire to inform me of your mother’s maiden name and maybe draw me a lay plan of your house, then this is the place for you! (Or, you know, you could just tell me your name and your favourite books/TV shows/ships. That works too.)

I’ll start: I’m fewdaysdown, or Kate. My interests include, but are not limited to: white water rafting, hot chocolate, Dean’s freckles, creative writing, gay porn, making stupidly titled iPod playlists and procrastination.

Wow, I really haven't updated lately! I didn't realise it had been so long. Apparently I did try, though, since there's a saved draft in this entry box. I seem to have been interrupted by something or someone in the middle of informing you all that I have the most awesome new desktop background (click it! You won't be sorry! Unless you have something against ADORABLENESS. Or, er, Sam/Dean :P)

Also, I know I have been failing at commenting too. But don't write me off yet! (Is that a song lyric?)

Today has been a kind of stupid day. It was late night shopping, so our store closes an hour later. And even though I know LOGICALLY it's only one hour more, it feels like SO MUCH LONGER D:

Sam/Dean, Adult This is definitely one of my favourite post-Hell fics so far. It's a little bit heartbreaking, but sweet and hopeful at the same time. OH BOYS *smishes them*

Sam/Dean, R This fic is an AU from the S1 finale. I don't usually go for AUs of the Sam/Dean variety, but I love the way the author has manipulated the canon plotline, changing not only the events, but the dynamic between the boys, which feels very S3.

Hopefully those recs make SOME sort of vague sense. I don't know. I'm tired.

I think I have been over tired lately. It is seeming like a good idea to do things like listen to Total Eclipse of the Heart on repeat and write fic where Dean has magical tears which give people powers. I mean, seriously. WHAT.

On the plus side, however: BIG BANG :D:D:D I've created a whole new bookmark folder in my to read list for it. I love Big Bang fics! They somehow always feel so much more shiny and exciting than regular fics, what with their artwork and soundtracks and various extras. And it looks like I'll have a four hour train journey on Friday, and then another on Saturday, which is the perfect time to start on my reading!

Anyway. Today I only have one rec for you guys. It's from about a year ago, so I think some of you will probably already have read it. But I'm going to rec it anyway, on the off chance someone hasn't.

SPN, Sam/Dean, R I managed to completely miss the first time around (it was possibly just before I got into SPN fandom, so that may be why). But I am very glad I managed to stumble across it eventually because it is lovely and it just ticked all of my little fic ticky boxes, if you know what I mean (which, okay, I realise you probably don't). The schmoop was sweet without being too much, the dialogue and the character voices were awesome and made me giggle several times. This fic is totally my new happy place :D

I have a few other fics I want to rec, but I will get to them in another entry. Sleeeep time now ♥

UGH. GUYS. It is half 12, and I need to go to bed soon because I have work tomorrow, but I can't because I am so stuffed up. My job is just so... graofjfofjfnaooj >:-( right now (And. Um, yeah, that TOTALLY made sense). I am sick, but not sick ENOUGH to have the day off *sadface*

Well. In other news, I have finished watching SV S7. Which means I have finished watching SV. I have also been watching that show Greek, for some unknown reason. Anyone else watch it? I kind of like it. It started of kind of average, but it got a lot better and funnier. It's got some pretty good pairings, too. I like all the canon ones, but I'd also like to see some Evan/Cappie. I looked for fics, but there's only about... two.

Also, on a completely unrelated note, I am sort craving a Romeo and Juliet esque J2 AU where their families own rival businesses. Or something like that. But, you know, without the tragic ending. Or... actually, that reminds me, one for last call for recs: ANY AND ALL J2 COLLEGE AU RECS PLZ? Watching Greek made me want some!

(SPN, Sam/Dean, PG-13) More schmoop and snuggling! WITH SNOW :D It seems like a good time a time as any to warn you all that a lot of my recs will be probably along these lines, since I have a serious addiction a healthy interest in anything schmoopy or H/C-related. Anyway, this very cute. Definitely an "aw, boys! ♥" kind of fic. Um. If that makes any sense at all?

Exactly Not Like A Fairytale by arewewinning
(SPN/OC crossover, Dean/Taylor, PG) Although I'm quite (okay, VERY) OTP-ish when it comes to Sam and Dean, and don't tend to like to read or consider them with other people, I seem to read quite a few of these little crossover pairing fics. And I have to say, this is one of my favourites. The characterisations are great, very subtly and skilfully drawn. I never would've thought of this pairing, although Taylor was probably my favourite O.C. character and I obviously love Dean. But it works. I love the detail, as well. Definitely worth a read, if not several.

Anyway. I have some recs! I think I might start doing these regularly, since I have so many fics on my delicious I think are awesome, but I hardly ever recommend any.

(SPN, Sam/Dean, NC-17) This is the sequel to Phthonus in Lethe, but I didn't actually read that one properly, since I'm not too interested in that whole boys-go-undercover-at-goth-club thing that seems to pop up a lot in fandom. I clicked on this fic mainly because I saw "mirror!sex". I thought it would be good, but it was more than good, it was AMAZING. Definitely one of, if the not the best, sex scenes I have ever read (it's also one of the longest - 16,421 words! But it held my attention) It's quite sub!Dean though, so you might want to give it a miss if you're not into that. Although how could you not be? :P

Sinew and Bone by niqaeli
(SPN, gen or Sam/Dean pre-slash, rating not specified but probably PG or PG-13 at the most) This is fic is quite old, but it's always good to spread the H/C love. Also, it doesn't have that many comments, and I think it deserves a few more. It's short, sweet and features a massage AND snuggling! Two of my favourite things ♥ It can be read as gen, but any fic which ends "he finds himself dozing off, remembering the soft, satiny feel of Dean's skin under his hands" is definitely slash in my mind.

Well, that's it for now on the recs front. In other news: OW MY FEET D:D:D:D: I have a new job working at H&M and, man, I have never done this much exercise! 7-9 hour shifts just RUNNING around the shop, on the fitting room, clearing rail. There never seems to be a minute to sit down! Sometimes I seriously wish NO-ONE tried on any clothes, since all I ever seem to do is take clothes back from the fitting room. Someone tries them on, I take them back, someone tries them on, I take them back. Over and over and over again. ALL DAY.

I've started trying to outline a few fics in my head when I get bored clearing rail and tidying. I thought of a coda to the SPN finale, although there seemed to a lot of making out and very little plot. I also tried to think of something to write for Clark/Lex, but for days I couldn't get past "Clark angrily slams Lex up against the wall and they start making out" (I'm sensing a theme here :P) However, the other day I thought of a coda/missing scene for 7x12. It even had a plot! I don't know if I'll ever actually write it, though, since I'm past 7x12 now. I'm nearly at the end of S7.

DUDE. I can't believe I watched all seven seasons in... however many months it was. That was a little excessive, even for me. I didn't even intend to start watching it. Or continue past S3 or 4.

I swear, I don't even KNOW what they are thinking with the plot sometimes. Also ( spoilers for SV S4? Do those even count anymore? )

Yes, I know I hardly ever update, but I just wanted to share with all of you the EPIC FAIL of getting back from WinCon and finding out my HARD DRIVE HAS BEEN WIPED D: D: D:

Yes, it is true. I went to the Apple store on Monday and they told me. I was very upset and traumatised, but after thinking about it a bit I realised I didn't actually lose THAT much. Most of the TV shows and films I can get from my old laptop and teaatsix, and I didn't really lose much uni work either.

The only thing I really DID lose is my work in progress fic. Which means schoolgirl!Dean is tragically lost to the world forever. As is the angsty Sam-leaves-for-Stanford gen. And the Mystery Spot coda (Okay, so there was only about three paragraphs of that. But whatever.)

Obviously I could do data recovery, but as awesome as schoolgirl!Dean clearly is, he is stil not worth £80+. So.

I am using my old laptop now, which is annoying because it a) doesn't have a 'v' key and, b) hates MegaUpload and won't let me use it.

Anyway. I was also going to use this post to link the fics I recced various people at WinCon, but I think everyone has got there before me.
